ABOUT US

ALAY is an original student publication housed under the Filipino Student Association at University of California, Santa Cruz.  Alay is often translated as an "offering," but it can also mean dedication, gift, or sacrifice. For the FSA community, Alay is a presentation of gifts and talents manifested in the form of our annual anthology, comprised of student submitted pieces. The publication is produced in Winter Quarter.

Alay is also the self-expression aspect of FSA. This aspect hosts events throughout the year; these include open mics, Mixed Elements, and the Hidden Talents Showcase. Alay is also featured in the annual Pilipino Cultural Celebration during the spring.

Alay is a space for all who wish to project a piece of themselves and their consciousness. All ethnicities are welcome.

Riane Briones is the Alay coordinator for the 2014 - 2015 year; she will be faciliting a number of Alay events throughout the year.
